September 2012

Autumn is full of good news, a new art season is about to start and our world at Swedish Photography is expanding steadily.

Our youngest artist Henrik Isaksson Garnell has been selected for this year’s Noorderlicht Photofestival in Holland, which will be showcasing 115 selected photographers from 36 countries. Visit the Museum Belvédère and the Heerenveen surroundings between September 2 and October 7.

When it comes to photo festivals, the world’s largest is the Pingyao International Photography Festival (PIP) in Pingyao/China. Nina Grundemark, owner of Swedish Photography, has curated the Swedish Pavillion together with curator Misha Pedan. From 19- 25 September you have the chance to experience photography from all over the world at PIP. We recently started to select the Book of the Month and our choice for September is our very own catalogue TWO, which was released on September 7 in connection with our season kick-off exhibition To Mom, Dad and My Two Brothers by Swedish-Iranian artist Aida Chehrehgosha. In late autumn, Chehrehgosha’s truly fascinating narration will be followed by stories from winterly Sweden: from 19 October Swedish Photography will show the series Winter by well- known photographer Lars Tunbjörk. We are looking forward to seeing you!
