Upcoming panel discussion at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin:

Our series of panel discussions will continue.
January 21, 2014, we will hold a panel discussion about „The Gender Perspective Within Photography“. It will be a co-operation with the Embassies of Sweden and Finland. Tuija Lindström was Sweden´s first female Art Professor, and as a strong feminist in a male dominant world of photographers, Lindström was roughly debated. We will discuss how the debate is today. Are there any differences between Sweden, Finland and Germany and do institutions value male and female artists equal when it comes to exhibitions and collections?

Panel members:
Tuija Lindström, Artist, Sweden/Finland
Anna-Kaisa Rastenberger, Director of the Photo Museum in Helsinki, Finland
Power Ekroth, Swedish, International curator in Germany
Dr. Thomas Köhler, Director at Berlinische Galerie in Berlin, Germany
Moderator: Elke Buhr, Deputy editor-in-chief at Monopol Magazin, Germany

The event will be accompanied by a slide show with selected works by Tuija Lindström and a release of the second volume of two books about her work by the Publishing House Art & Theory, Stockholm. Please let us know if you would like to visit the panel discussion. Seats are limited.

Warmly welcome.
