We will also announce the book release by our artist Annika Thörn Legzdins, November 10 at 5 p.m. She is publishing her first book Translucence, (2012, Arena) and we are very pleased that the official release event takes place at Swedish Photography. Translucence is our “BOOK OF THE MONTH” for November.

Panel Discussion
In connection with the „5. European Month of Photography and in cooperation with the Nordic Embassies in Berlin– we present a panel discussion on “Nordic Photography” on November 24 at 5 p.m. Inspired by Lars Tunbjörk’s Winter series, which is currently on show at the gallery, the central topic of the discussion will be the “Nordic Light“. Together with photographers from all five Nordic countries, we want to seek answers to the question whether and how the seasonal changes of the lighting conditions in Scandinavia influence the photographers.

The following photographers will be participating in the panel:
Joakim Eskildsen, Denmark
Riitta Päiväläinen, Finland
Katrin Elvarsdottir, Iceland
Nina Strand, Norway
Lars Tunbjörk, Sweden

The panel discussion will be moderated by Ann-Christin Bertrand, art historian and curator at the well-known exhibition forum C/O Berlin. It will be complemented by a slide show with selected works by all five photographers. Please let us know if you want to visit the event at Felleshus at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin.
