Tuija Lindström was born in 1950 in Finland and has been based in Sweden since 1975. Between 1992 and 2002, Tuija Lindström was Sweden’s first female professor in photography at the then School of Photography and Film at the University of Gothenburg. During her artistic leadership, a master’s programme was established and the foundations laid for the institution’s current photographic research. A retrospective of her work was shown at Liljevalchs Konsthall, Stockholm, 2004. Tuija Lindström is represented in select collections including the Hasselblad Foundation, Moderna Museet, the Finnish Museum of Photography and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
